The raw material base of the «YUZHNIY GOK» Mining and Processing Plant is represented by the Skeliuvatske deposit of magnetite ferrous quartzites. The company uses cyclic-flow technology of ore mining using road, rail and conveyor transport.
The plant consists of 23 structural units, including 5 main ones:
The total production capacity of the factories is 13.5 million tons of concentrate per year (as of 2021).
Since 1953, the Mining Department has been conducting a complex of overburden works and extraction of raw ore from the Skeliuvatske deposit of ferrous magnetite quartzites. The design capacity of the quarry is 30 million tons of ore per year.

The Mining Department includes a mining transport workshop and 12 production sites.
The mining transport workshop provides transportation of rock mass by BelAZ dump trucks from excavator pits to reloading sites.
The shop consists of 2 columns, a section for construction and repair of roads, as well as a repair service.
The Department of Railway Transport provides transportation of overburden – to external dumps, and ore – to the crushing plant, reception of goods and materials coming to the plant by rail, it also forms the warehouses for loading and dispatch of finished products.
The length of the railway tracks is 270 km. Electrified railway length is 254.1 km.

The Department of Crushing and Transport Complex - carries out crushing and transportation of ore – from the quarry to the beneficiation plants, and rock overburden – from the quarry to the transshipment point in the area of the Left Bank dumps.
The Department of Crushing and Transport Complex includes:
- shops No.1 and No.2 (ore tract) - performs crushing of iron ore by crushers of large-range (horizon -90 meters and horizon -210 meters), medium and small crushing with subsequent transportation to the hopper of ore processing plants No. 1 and No.2.
- shop No.3 (rock tract) - performs crushing of rock overburden by a large-range crusher (horizon -75 meters), as well as transportation to the transshipment point in the area of the Left Bank dump.
Ore Beneficiation Plant No.1 produces commercial iron ore concentrate of two brands: KZ (iron ore concentrate) with a mass fraction of iron of 65.86% and KZV (high-grade iron ore concentrate) with a mass fraction of iron of 68%. The factory has 8 technological sections: sections No.1-4 produce KZ concentrate and sections No.5-8 produce KZV concentrate.
The technological scheme includes three phases of grinding in ball mills and classification with the introduction of additional control classification in hydrocyclones, and three phases of wet magnetic separation with subsequent dehydration (filtration) of iron ore concentrate.
Ore Beneficiation Plant No.2 produces commercial iron ore concentrate of two brands: KZ with a mass fraction of iron of 65.15% and KZV with a mass fraction of iron of 68.0% – 68.5%. The plant has 8 technological sections: sections Nos. 1 – 4 produce KZ brand concentrate and sections Nos. 11 – 14 produce KZV brand concentrate.
The technological scheme of sections Nos. 1 – 4 includes three phases of ball grinding and classification, two phases of separation of hydrocyclone sludge from the second and third phase of classification, four phases of wet magnetic separation with subsequent dehydration (filtration) of iron ore concentrate. The technology also includes two phases of control classification in hydrocyclones.
The technological scheme of beneficiation of sections Nos. 11 – 14 is modernized: the control classification of desludger sands of the second reception in hydrocyclones is introduced. The scheme envisages the release of KZV brand concentrate and the transfer of control classification sands to the group of sections Nos. 1 – 4, followed by their further grading to the state of KZ brand concentrate.
The sludge systems shop is designed for receiving, transporting and storing beneficiation waste in two sludge storage facilities – “First Chart” and «Voikove», which are located in the «YUZHNIY GOK» part of the industrial site.
Both tailings belong to the ravine-beam type; and by the type of storage of beneficiation tailings – to the «alluvial» type.
In 2021, a slurry thickening complex was put into operation in the sludge systems shop, which reduces the amount of sludge pumped into the tailings pond by 11 times and reduces electricity consumption by up to 40 percent. Such project was implemented for the first time in Ukraine.
